China UK Link has been appointed as Sole Agents for one of China's leading Biodegradable Plastics manufacturers and is currently marketing this product in the UK and Republic of Ireland. Director Ms Christine Lee sees the future in biodegradable products, particularly as green issues are having an increasing effect on our daily lives. Retailers are looking at ways of reducing their plastic bags, particularly following the 2008 budget where the Government announced they will bring forward legislation in the Climate Change Bill to force retailers to impose a minimum charge on single-use carrier bags, if sufficient progress isn’t made on a voluntary basis. These powers will come into force in 2009, which is why it is so important to change our ways now.
